The St. Louis Area Foodbank got its start in 1975 and was originally known as the Food Crisis Network. We worked out of a tiny office space downtown. In that first year, we distributed 135,000 pounds of food.
Each year, we gather and distribute millions of pounds of food and personal care items thanks to the generous support of hundreds of food manufacturers, retailers, corporate and community food drives.
